Aid to Needy Veterans Grants

            There are two grants from the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs: Health Care Aid and Subsistence Aid Grants. 

  • The Health Care Aid Grant may be able to assist with dental, hearing, and vision care.
  • The Subsistence Aid Grant may be able to assist with loss of income.

To qualify, the household income must be at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines at the time of the application along with no more than $1,000 in liquid assets.  Current federal poverty guidelines can be found HERE

WI Department of Natural Resources (DNR) State Parks Pass

            A free WI State Parks Pass may be issued to qualified veterans.  To receive this pass, a veteran MUST:

  • Be 70% service-connected by the Federal VA
  • Have a current rating decision/award letter
  • Have a copy of a DD-214
  • Have a photo ID
  • Have the 2500-123 Form signed by the CVSO

WI Disabled Veterans and Unremarried Surviving Spouses Property Tax Credit

          Veterans and Surviving Spouses may qualify for a credit to their property taxes. 

Eligibility for Veterans:

  • Joined the military from the state of WI or have 5 years continuous residency in the state
  • 100% service-connected by the Federal VA (P&T)

Eligibility for Surviving Spouses:

  • *Same residency requirement
  • In receipt of Dependency Indemnity Compensation (DIC)
  • Unremarried
