What We Are About

Diversion is a program whereby a person facing criminal or county ordinance charges is diverted from the criminal court process. To be eligible to participate, an offender must meet specific criteria, attend an education session and pay restitution (if any is ordered). Upon successful completion of the program, the charges are dismissed.

Diversion Pamphlet

Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) is for individuals charged with domestic violence crimes. To be eligible to participate, an offender must accept responsibility for their actions and have an offer from the Assistant District Attorney (ADA) to participate. This program consists of group sessions and upon successful completion, the charges will be reduced or amended.

DVIP Information and Appointment Card

The Rock County Deferred Prosecution Program (DPP) is designed for those who are determined to be low to medium risk for committing new crimes, but do not meet criteria for the Diversion Program, based on a scientifically validated criminal risk assessment. Participants who meet criteria for Deferred Prosecution, and whose case is referred by the District Attorney, will sign a written Deferred Prosecution Agreement and enter a plea, but will have their judgment of conviction deferred. Participants who successfully complete their Deferred Prosecution requirements will earn a dismissal of their case. Those who fail to complete requirements will be referred back to court to be sentenced on the offense(s) to which they were found guilty.
