On May 25, 2023 , the Rock County Board of Supervisors established an Ad Hoc Airport Planning Committee to evaluate the following:

  1. Determine if the Airport should continue to maintain and rent existing T-hangars.
  2. Determine if the Airport should build new aircraft storage units either in the form of T-hangar units or multiple aircraft storage hangars within the next 5-7 years.
  3. Establish a timeline for the demolition of the oldest T-hangar buildings.

The Ad Hoc Airport Planning Committee will strategically evaluate the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport’s existing aircraft storage facilities and future land-use for county-owned aircraft storage for the period of June through September 2023 (or earlier) for the purpose of researching and developing recommendations per the project scope identified above.

The Ad Hoc Airport Planning Committee members are appointed for the term of the project. Membership of this Ad Hoc Airport Planning Committee shall include not more than four (4) members of the Airport Board and the Airport Director

The Ad Hoc Airport Planning Committee will dissolve upon submission of a report to the Airport Board and County Board of Supervisors no later than November 1, 2023.
