WHAT IS OWI TREATMENT COURT?

The Rock County OWI Court is a collaborative effort between the Rock County Courts, the Rock County District Attorney’s Office, the State Public Defender’s Office, the DOC Division of Community Corrections, Rock County Human Services, and the Rock County Sheriff’s Office. This is a five-phase program consisting of intensive supervision of defendants by a case manager and probation officer, frequent appearances before the OWI Court Judge, individualized SUD treatment, other treatment and counseling as necessary, random drug testing, home visits, and support group attendance. The program is a minimum of fourteen-months.

  • Criminogenic risk-need assessment
  • Biopsychosocial assessment
  • MAT and psychiatry services
  • Case management
  • Moral Reconation Therapy
  • SUD (Substance Use Disorder) Treatment
  • Anger Management course
  • Relapse Prevention course
  • Trauma services
  • DBT 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

  • Adult residents of Rock County
  • Individuals referred the criminal justice system
  • Defendants charged with a 3rd, 4th or 5th OWI offense in Rock County (individuals are not  eligible if they have multiple pending 3rd offense OWIs).
  • The defendant is found, through use of a screening and assessment tool, to be a person who is diagnosed with a moderate to severe substance use disorder.
  • The defendant's criminal record check must disclose no prior violent felony convictions. 

HOW DO CLIENTS PAY FOR SERVICES?

Participants are required to pay a fee of $75 per month.
