WHAT ARE SUBSTANCE USE SCREENINGS?

Rock County Behavioral Health Division offers substance use screenings to provide assistance linking individuals to substance use disorder treatment. Substance use screening services include: a brief screening regarding substance use treatment needs, level of care assessment, psychoeducation, funding assistance for uninsured or underinsured individuals, and referral/ linking to treatment services.  (Please note that the substance use screenings are brief screenings only and not comprehensive substance use assessments to satisfy court or other requirements.) 

In some cases, individuals can link with treatment services within hours or days.  In other cases, there may be a wait list or additional coordination required.  

WHAT TREATMENT AND SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE?

  • Substance use screening
  • Referral to behavioral health treatment services
    • Individual Counseling
    • Intensive Outpatient (group and individual counseling)
    • Residential Treatment
    • Medication-Assisted Treatment
  • Education regarding overdose prevention, recovery resources, and communicable illness risk and treatment resources
  • Financial assistance for treatment for clients who are uninsured or underinsured 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Rock County residents over age 18  who are concerned about their substance use and would like to learn more about substance use services or enroll in treatment. Pregnant individuals and IV drug users are given priority admission. 

HOW DO CLIENTS PAY FOR SERVICES?

If an individual has insurance and their insurance covers the appropriate level of treatment, they will use their insurance. If an individual does not have insurance or their insurance does not cover the appropriate level of care, they are eligible for financial assistance. Rock County uses grant money to provide these services.
